Hi, Jane here, creator of the placemat tutorial. Fun to find it here and hope many of you will find it helpful. The tutorial on flickr is actually a draft and needs polishing, so if you have questions or comments to help make it more clear or improve it, just put notes in the photos or comments here or on flickr. Flickr is so nice because you can comment/question on each photo.

Initially did the tute to help a young mom friend. She and her daughter came to my studio for a crafting day and we did the no-sew placemats. They enjoyed it so much, the Mom asked how to do the placemats - hence the tute.

For those of you with embroidery machines, these placemats make a great slate for embroidery designs. Mark the size of the placemat on the right side of the fabric and put in your embroidery design, Press and remark the placemat edges and carry on with sewing up the placemat.

    Have fun!
    Jane
