The sample snowflake looks great. I would imagine you could embroider it on a washaway stablizer, then rinse away the stablizer and starch the snowflake for a Christmas tree ornament.

These are awesome, saw them stitched out by my Brother dealer. They would be beautiful in metallic, especially variegated, a bunch of them on a sweatshirt or denim shirt in different colors - wow. Would be pretty on a tablerunner with small tealight candles catching the sparkle of the thread.
Would get me through the Wisconsin winters - love snowflakes.

As someone who just started embroidering that past few weeks, this design will be a must purchase. I love the color scheme and have thoughts of them on winter hand towels, dish cloths, and so much more!

I have ordered the embroidery cd’s from SFL for many many years and for gifts for my embroidery friends, who then have become SFL customers and the embroidery turns out beautiful. Will do so for many more years. Love the blog free stuff.

  17. Comment by Cath:

You shouldn’t assume that we all have used a blog before - it took me an hour just to get to this point. I like the idea of the free stuff, but it waasn’t worth an hour of my time. I only kept proceeding just so I would know how to get to a blog and what it entailed to use one. It would be really nice if you are going to have a contest like this to fully explain how to get to the point where we can enter a comment and do not assume everyone has highspeed. I live in an area where I am stuck with acnient dial up. No high speed available.

As I live in the hot tropics of North Queensland Australia - any design that ‘cools’ is something that is most appealing to the eyes. I could see these (embroidered with gold and silver thread) on our Christmas Tree (a native gum tree in a pot)

  19. Comment by JANICE COMPTON:

These snowflakes are lovely. As a new comer to embroidery I would love to add these to my beginning collection. I cn imagine using different colour threads to make some of the snowflakes appear to be fireworks exploding. Please keep up the wonderful designs, even if I cannot afford to purchase them all.

  24. Comment by Judi Heffner:

There isn’t a great demand for snowflakes out here in S. Arizona where, right now, the temperature is hitting over 100 degrees every single day. However, being born and raised in PA, where all of my relatives still live, there is always a need for a gift where snowflakes would be perfect. These designs are very detailed and very creative.

  26. Comment by PeggyLou:

Anything by Dakota Collectibles is a wonderful embroidery product to own and stitch out. These snowflakes would look nice on so many things and are not necessarily limited to winter themes. Its a lot more fun to embroider them then it is to be shoveling them in the winter!

    June 24, 2008 @ 6:33 pm
  27. Comment by Melissa:

These would look great on hand towels for Christmas. I’m new at embroidering and plan to make many Christmas presents this year.

Who wouldn’t want snowflakes when the temp and humidity are both 90 and going up!? Dakota COllectables are always well digitized and these designs look to be super all over pants and a shirt. Yes to Yenmet, too! It’s the best metallic ….

    June 24, 2008 @ 7:00 pm
  30. Comment by Sandy:

I have a favorite season and its winter and Christmas, how wonderful it would be if I had a lot of snowflakes to hang on the tree and for the little grandkids at Christmas. I love the cd’s you sell and have ordered lots of them plus much of the other stuff you sell. janet

  39. Comment by Linda McKay:

I know those of you who live in snow country get to the point where you ‘hate it’, and can’t wait for spring, for those of us that lived in areas where we might get snow once every 15-20 years, we would love to have it for maybe ‘one weekend’. Funny how we want what the other has. These designs remind me of the winters I always imagine if I lived in snow country, I will always associate snowflakes with Christmas and hot chocolate in front of the fireplace. The designs are lovely and I would love to use them on something special for my holiday decorations.

Love you web site and have ordered several bargins.
Love the snowflakes, and this is the way I like to enjoy winter sewing out snow flakes instead of watching them.

  43. Comment by Bettie Stanislao:

Beautiful snowflakes! Winter was so long in Montana this year that I thought I would never want to see another snowflake. But summer arrived this week, and those cool, crisp snowflakes really look cool to me. I would love to have this design to decorate the little flannel quilts I am making. Thanks for featuring this design.

I agree with Pam. It was a long winter in North Idaho. The snowflakes are beautiful, but I am not ready to start thinking winter yet. It looks like some are especially designed to use crystals. Does anyone have a favorite type of crystal? Brenda
